When you transpose thoughts to words, you effectively become part of the poetic gesture in existence at any given time. Poetry in its multi transitional expressionism builds a communication from one heart to another that touches the core essence through the means we know as art; and poetry, first spoken, then written, is the oldest of all the arts.
It is the beauty, the ugliness, the whole gamut of human emotion and experience shared. Styles and motifs change, but that is mere fashion, so the actual art of poetry is never lost, it simply evolves, in the same way our kind is evolving to meet the challenges of this new technological era. Old becomes new, new becomes old, and we are all artists of a kind. A chalk scribble on a wall, or Wordsworth's 'Daffodils,' of equal value and merit.
Now, go write an epic, there's plenty of fodder available.
All starts with the idea, thought or spark and then the wording and formatting. As long as you express your thoughts and feelings then you can twerk them at the end. Excellent questioning...:).........
