The April 9th Sequence

The April 9th Sequence

A Poem by JT Godin
"

More rule breaking haiku. Now I'm even breaking my own rules.

"

The Morning of the 9th

Icicle winds' dull chill
Dusk free smoke skies part ways
Lone rays' soft simmer

The Afternoon of the 9th

Deep cove rolling blue
Matchlock powder clouds dream
Stones flutter under toe

Mixed love like mortar
Fish painting rough current
Wood walkways breathe life

The imagery alone is amazing. Paint the picture of Spring's arrival cold as the eyes of war. I'm not exactly sure what I meant by that but it seemed fitting for some reason. I'm happy I get to read your work again.

pleasant formatting, i love the time-stamped titles.. your words are simple and clear, it makes for a beautiful read! True to the Haiku language...yet breaks technical rules.
