If Everyone Cared

If Everyone Cared

A Poem by Voice

If Everyone Cared

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight

Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive

Voices spread like wildfire

One turns to two

Two to four

Each telling another

And adding one more

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

They sing to us of beauty

And a world that is kind

One that if we look for

We will actually find

They sing to us of hope

And hope that we hear

If we listen to them

We’ll be released from our fear

Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive

They need us to speak up

And join in the fight

We know as well as them

In this world what is right

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

The tune of possibility and change

Is what each voice has shared

Can you imagine what it would be like

If everyone cared?

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
When nobody died...

A poem with great hope and outstanding dreams. World is out of control. There are many good people assisting the poor and homeless. Many good people do great things not wanting reward. But just to give to someone in need. I like this poem. A poem with a positive message.

I will have to listen to the song I cant recall it, but knwing your talent and by the other reviews here I just know you'll have succeeded. I loved the peace its flow was excellent and every phrase was well written. My favourite was the last verse it hit home. well done:)

Wonderful piece. When I first read the title of this peace I instantly thought of the Nickleback song. So I'm quite glad that it turned out the way I thought it would. It takes a talented artist to write his or her lyrics and poetry over the lyrics of very powerful singers lyrics. You've done a fantastic job of acing the words which this song imply and impose on readers -- but does not say. You've made the words further influential for someone who really enjoys this song.

thank you, for dedicating something so beautiful to such a wonderful cause!

First off I just loved that song and your poem really adds and even more humane touch to those lyrics... what a wonderful infusion of those lyrics and your poetic voice.
