A Hooker's TruthA Poem by VoiceA Hooker’s Truth Her time at work is spent on her back Her body is not a sacred pillar But a desecrated land Pillaged by thieves Men who pay so little And take so much To those looking in She is nothing but filth They know her kind But they don’t know her She will do whatever it takes To feed her family Her inner demons control her Yet they can’t consume her She asks for God’s forgiveness every night And He always does Though she will continue to sin Her soul will not be lost For only God knows His children’s struggles And only He can judge
