Locked Hearts

Locked Hearts

A Poem by Victoria Skelton
"

Love gone wrong.

"

I give up on words, at least mine that get me into trouble.
I give up on emotional disparity that only bursts my bubble.
Wish I could use the time, I wasted on the daily grind,.
Plus additional thoughts declined, and the brevity of mind.
To slip into a dream like state of time with you no one could take.

To live in the past when innocently I believed in love to stay,
Now I only want to forget demands and have freedom today.
To be able to release the restrictions and walk to the light side,
Where fear and jealousy, love and understanding cannot hide..
Free from the hold that heartbreak has on my actions and words.

To create a space where I can be the queen of my destiny,
A lifetime of relationships with professors of true loyalty.
Places where the sunshine reveals the true kindness of man.
Days of only pleasant thoughts toward the future I defend.
A place where we can once again exist in the light of love.

My words to you now are wrapped in shadows and whispers,
Kisses and touches left unfastened in sharp containers.
Will they be unleashed again on the unsuspecting couples?
Unlocking doors moving through mazes so swift and supple.
Pray, they do not meet the same fate as the two before.
