Heartbreak

Heartbreak

A Poem by VitalianRose

I've tried for years now
Willing to give you time and space
I stayed away and to your word I did bow
Still at times I would reach out, but never break your pace
How long will it take
You have no clue
Only I am the one that breaks
Until the bridge mends this is true
Without you I'm empty and wrong
One day I hope for you to see
Undying compassion all life long
Losing you, it's hard to break free
Don't you know the truth yet
For you were always the one I kept close
Only for you to tell me to get
Reaping the field I didn't sow
Giving up my happiness for yours alone
I stood down and stepped aside for you to leave
Venting and pleading for just a scrap of bone
Every day over you I can't help but grieve
Meeting you, though, still lights me up
Eventually, I hope we can come clean

I miss you, my ride or die...
