Symbols?

Symbols?

A Poem by VitalianRose

I saw something today
Walking out the front door
As my worries about work flooded the way
A sound stopped my feet from hitting the ground once more
A screech above me
Somewhere in the tree
I knew the sound well
Like one would know the chime of a bell
I searched the branches for what I knew
Looking for where the feathers grew
Atop a barren branch I found his talons
The wind not even disturbing his balance
A gorgeous hawk stared back at me
From atop his mighty old tree
He searched the earth floor
Perhaps looks for some nice score
I watched in awe as he unknowingly helped my day
Then bowed his head, spread his wings, and flew away

wow.. your poem is good.. I would never have thought of rhyming talons and balance but it works well here.. something about the birds.. they seem to be conducive of poetry..
