Revenge is Within Poisoned Love

Revenge is Within Poisoned Love

A Poem by Vx

I see shapes in the smoke that is risen from the fires
Burning within my inner walls in attempt to burn down my security
Boundaries weaken with wear and ashes.
All I want is for someone to climb over these walls
Not burn them down with tricky love and horrid lies.
To fill my heart up and heal it with patience, love and time
Not to fill it with hate and self regret.
I've spent years trying to come up with a word for your personality,
But I got lost with searching for a reason to still care.
You broke me and you were well aware of it
I just hope in the end the poison that once filled my veins and controlled me--
Enters yours and never leaves.

Very much can relate. After broken promises and shattered dreams, our carapace, our walls, become even harder to pierce through. Bitterness is usually buried under the broken glass that once was our heart.

I like the imagery you used to start off this piece. Well done.
