Winter Wonderland CourtyardA Poem by The StoryTellerJust a poem I wrote as I looked at my school's senior outdoor lunch courtyard today. It was early morning, like around 8:00 A.M.
The sun crest and peaks over the edge of the roof,
Illuminating the enchanted courtyard. Cute little benches, With little tufts of downy snow. White - green leaves on the petite overhanging trees, Thin, spiraling, reedy branches with no connection to any true trunk. A fountain usually full of sparkling, clear, luminous water, Is now full of angelic clouds of cold. A long icicle dangles off of the edge of the low - hanging roof, Smooth and yet bumpy lit up with the sun's fire, narrowing to a point. Oh, how beautiful this courtyard is in Winter, Just after a new fallen snow untouched by humanity. Oh, how beautiful this courtyard is in Winter, Full of white powder and early morning sun and chirping birds. Oh, how beautiful this courtyard is in Winter, An enchanting Winter Wonderland. © 2015 The StoryTellerAuthor's Note
