I agree and I think I'm guilty of that sometimes. Especially when I was younger or going through tough times. Praying to God as if he is some genie that will make all my wishes come true. What it has taught me is to always be humble, work hard and be grateful. And God will always provide. It might not be how I wished it would be but what I needed at the time. Love your poem.

I agree, sometimes we lose sight of he that made us, and lose sight of what is important. The point is, God doesn't look for prideful, confident people. They naturally fight against him, and he can't work with them. But once they are broken, despairing, and in pain, God can shape them and there is less of a chance of rebellion against him. The thing to do is pray everyday, all the time, even about small stuff. Heck, I just had a OGT practice essay yesterday, and prayed before I did that. But as God said, I feed the crows, I clothe the flowers, why would I not you? So do not worry.
This piece flowed with ease, and every line seemed to complete it all over again. Beautiful work... keep it up!

And yeah, sometimes we want to keep our views to ourselves, so I totally understand. And God is and should be the top priority in all our lives. He is mine. :)
At first I thought the poem was about being true to God and believing and then there seemed to be a secondary more powerful message, that a person should be good to others. Although, I did think it was a bit harsh, as the condemnation and rage seems strong in this poem. It would appear to be a very religious poem, which juxtaposes itself against the anger within it. The irony is made when the 'speaker' damns those whom he/she doesn't know to 'eternal fire'.
Ironic and to me, I don't agree.

I wasn't trying to put a lot of anger in it, I was just saying, and idk, I dislike people that find joy in pain and outright go against God. The speaker does sort of have that tone though. I had the speaker damn them only because it says in the Bible that those who do not believe are not saved. To be saved you must believe. That was my other point aside from being true to God and good to others. Thank you for reviewing. :)
Wise wisdom shared in the poetry.
Rejoice in the Lord's name,
"Pray every day,
Because once this life is gone,
There's the next one,
And whether you get eternal fire or eternal bliss,
That's depended upon you,
So don't."
I agree. Pay now or later. Every action, good or bad. We must take responsibility for. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
