Smoke BreakA Poem by Vivid Pictures
I'm sighing on a menthol, thinking life just ain't that bad.
I've gained some things I've wished I'd lost, And lost some things I had. But through all this, I know for sure that things just ain't that bad, 'cause the things I have in front of me, are the best that I can have. I've got a girl who loves me, of this I know for sure, She greets me every morning, with "I'm forever yours." She makes my day complete, and always makes me smile, If she were a brand of clothing, she'd be just my style. The way I feel, when I see those eyes, is far beyond compare, And I've got the best seat in the house, when I'm playing with her hair. And I've got this little man, who I call Safety Sam, And he's doing what he can do to be a little man, So I've got a plan, and since I'm the man, I'm gonna love this little man with all that I can, And teach him up right, show him which way to go, And raise him up right, like a young man should grow. And who should know, or who should say, I might raise the greatest kid of modern day One that goes on to cure a disease, Or lead an army into the fray. My cig snubs out, I've smoked it gone. I turn around and sleep sets on. I shuffle back to my bedroom door, The way I've done it all before. When I lay down, turn out the light,
I'll text my love a kiss good night. I close my eyes, and bed down tight, To rendezvous with my love tonight. And think of all the things I have, And know that life.............just ain't that bad. † Vivid † © 2010 Vivid PicturesAuthor's Note
