My Secret Obsession

This one I wrote back in October of '07, I believe. I love it, not because it's a wonderful poem but because it still expresses how I feel. And after all, isn't that the point of petry? To express emotions? Anywho... Go on and read it now.

I fell in love with a guy that I've never met.
It's been months, but I haven't talked to him yet.
I think it's my fears that keep me away.
They keep me from saying what I really want to say.
They keep me from telling him the truth,
From just walking up and saying those three words,
"I like you."
But as I said, my fears keep me from it,
And as my emotions reach their summit,
I wonder if he even knows that I exist.
If he does, it's only as 'the girl with a heart drawn on her wrist.'
