Shouldn't Feel Sad

Shouldn't Feel Sad

A Poem by Cordell

I have hurt throughout my life
I had felt the edge of sorrow
As I looked through my soul as I attempted suicide
Yet I lived to see another tomorrow

I have been used, left & abused
Yelled at, beaten & bruised
Burnt, whipped, and punched
With nothing left to lose

I had my share of pain and rejection
Suicidal thoughts
Were my distractions

I have been bullied and tormented
Left in the rain and in the dark
Scared, broken & wounded
But yet there’s a spark

I have been though a lot in my life
More than anyone my age should have
But I know everything’s going to be alright
So you shouldn’t feel sad…

About
Been writing poetry since 1992! It was a project for high school and ever since I loved it! My poems tend to be more gothic, and about suicide and depression and the darkside of life. Sometimes there .. more..
