Watching, Waiting

Watching, Waiting

A Poem by Cordell

He stands by the window

As if he’s waiting for someone

He would walk away for a little

Come back to no one

He watches the cars roll on by

Waiting for one of them to stop

                                           Waiting for something to come

                                           Sadly it’s not

                                                                                       Legs sore, knees buckled

Almost bringing him to the floor

What is he standing out there for

Watching, waiting

For his lover

Sadly

He was left for another…

                                                               S.H.

Damn.....
This is sad. That last line just got me. "left for another..."
Great poem my friend. Your writing is pretty epic.

Been writing poetry since 1992! It was a project for high school and ever since I loved it! My poems tend to be more gothic, and about suicide and depression and the darkside of life. Sometimes there .. more..
