Chapter 1: First Day On The JobA Chapter by Japanese CherrySaku woke up a few hours later when Kim Ji-Hoon stirred from where he
slept on the floor against the sofa. She was grateful of him for letting her
sleep on the sofa… but she felt terrible when she noticed that his back began
to give him trouble… she decided to let him sleep on the chair instead… she
didn’t want him sleeping uncomfortably in his own home… She got up and waited
for him to exit the bathroom before going in herself… -The bathroom was neat, and the floor wet from where Kim
Ji-Hoon walked out of the shower -Saku carefully set her things on the sink and made her way
to the shower -She turned on the hot water and prepared for a bath “My first day of babysitting… let’s hope the job goes well…” -Before she gets into the shower, she hears Kim Ji-Hoon
knock on the door “Saku, I’m going out for a run with Honjaui. The kids will
wake up soon so don’t take too long… Straighten up the house and make them some
breakfast… I’ll be back soon.” -Saku replied as she got into the shower “I won’t take long… No need to hurry back, everything will
be fine!” When Saku came out, she was wearing a pair of knee high shorts. Her
hair was up in a bun. Her shirt was
completely open in the back, a strap around her waist and a string around her
neck keeping it from falling off of her slim body, her typical cleaning outfit…
The angel wings on her back completely exposed… “Since Kim Ji-Hoon is out for his exercise with Honjaui…
I’ll wear my regular cleaning outfit… clean up a bit, and when he returns I’ll
try to get a tank top to wear since he might feel awkward with me wearing
something like this…” -Saku has just enough time to fold up the blankets that were
used the last night before Hyun-Woo and Seo-Hyun arouse from their slumber -Saku greets them with a warm smile “Ohayo kids!” -Seo-Hyun smiles “Annyeong unnie…” -Hyun-Woo yawns “Annyeong noona…” -Korean language “I guess it is a good thing I studied a bit of Korean… it’s
a very good thing that I can understand you two… What do you two want for
breakfast?” -After making sure the children brushed their teeth and
cleaned themselves, Saku made her way to the kitchen and started to make the
kids breakfast “This isn’t so bad… babysitting… I’ll still be working hard,
but, it’s not like I haven’t worked hard before…” -Saku heard the sound of two feet coming towards the kitchen
and she turned her head to quickly glimpse Seo-Hyun and Hyun-Woo walking in to
see what she was doing “I’ll have your food ready in a few minutes, okay?” “Unnie, what is that on your back?” -Saku was confused at first by the question, and then she
realized what Seo-Hyun was referring to “Oh… those are my angel wings, honey… I had them drawn onto
me a while ago…” -Hyun-Woo asked “What did you get them for?” -Saku finished cooking and grabbed two plates to put the
food on “I got them to remember my mom and dad…” -She ushered the kids into the dining room and sat them down
to eat -She sat down as well, smiling as they enjoyed their meal -While eating, Seo-Hyun asked Saku “Are your mom and dad somewhere far?” -Saku’s smile faltered “Yes… they are very far away from me…” -Hyun-Woo hesitantly asks “Are… they in heaven?” -Saku’s smile completely disappears “For a 7 year old kid… you seem to be very mature… yes… they
are in heaven…” “I have to take care of mommy and Seo-Hyun since daddy is in
heaven too.” -Saku begins to see more of her in the 7 year old “Well, you’re growing up to fast… don’t forget to have fun…
or you’ll end up like your noona here…” After breakfast, there really wasn’t much to clean up… Kim Ji-Hoon had
kept his house very clean to begin with, so, Saku had the children help her
make up the bed they were sleeping in, and then, she sat down with them to do
her homework while they watched T.V. -Saku heard Kim Ji-Hoon as he made his way into the house “I’m back!” -Saku quickly gets up to greet him “Welcome back! Breakfast is on the table!” -She meets him in the dining room where he is sitting down
and pulling the plate of food that Saku made for him closer “Did they give you any trouble?” “No, not at all…” -At the sound of Saku’s depressed tone, Ji-Hoon looks up “What is it?” -Saku sits down across from him “You didn’t tell me their father passed away… I was
wondering why Hyun-Woo seemed a bit more mature for his age…” “When did they tell you?” “When Seo-Hyun brought up my parents…” “…” -Kim Ji-Hoon began to eat his late breakfast -Honjaui barks from the kitchen “Oh… where is Honjaui’s food?” -Kim Ji-Hoon stands up and takes his plate “I’ll get it…” -Saku’s eyes widen at the empty plate “Were you that hungry that you finished all that in a matter
of a couple minutes?” -Kim Ji-Hoon scoffs at the comment and walks into the
kitchen to clean his dish and feed Honjaui -Saku stands up after a few more seconds of sitting and
stretches her arms over her head “I have a little more homework to finish and then the rest
of the day just goes to learning more about the two children…” “And more about the
intelligent guy in the kitchen… who suddenly lost his… sarcastic and mean
side…” “Saku… is that a tattoo?!” -Saku gasps when she realizes that she never changed her
backless shirt… so… her entire back was exposed to him… from the shoulders to
the lower back… “Oh… uh, yeah…” -She spins around to face Kim Ji-Hoon, blocking her bare
back from him “When did you get a tattoo?” “It was about… uh… 2 years ago…” -He walked over to her “Angel wings… do they have a meaning?” “… My parents… um… used to call me… their… little angel…
so…” -Saku was having a sudden loss for words as she stared at
Kim Ji-Hoon -She was having mixed thoughts “What will he say
about the tattoo? What do I care? Will he think them stupid? His eyes… they’re
really pretty…” -She shook her head to clear away the last thought and
prepared for the insult -Instead, Kim Ji-Hoon’s eyes softened “I never pictured you to be one to get tattoos… they look
nice on you though…” -He passed her and walked towards his bedroom -Saku let out a sigh “I thought he would criticize them… or reprimand me for the
way I was dressed…” The rest of the day was boring for the most part… Saku took care of
Hyun-Woo and Seo-Hyun’s needs and occasionally took Honjaui out to go to the
bathroom… but other than having to cook dinner and prepare the kids and herself
for bed… she really didn’t have much to do… She couldn’t understand why Kim
Ji-Hoon would need her help if this was all he needed to do… Kim Ji-Hoon insisted she sleep on the sofa again and Saku disagreed
with him, pointing out his hurt back… He told her not to be concerned but she
continued to disagree… in the end, Saku agreed to his suggestion and slept on
the sofa. It wasn’t long before she had to wake up to calm Seo-Hyun’s crying
for her mother… -Saku was lying on the bed next to Seo-Hyun as she soothed
the girl’s cries “Shh… go back to sleep… you have to wake up early tomorrow
for school…” -Saku noticed Hyun-Woo’s eyes were also open “You can’t sleep either?” -He nodded -Saku let out a sigh “Okay then… let me get in the middle…” -She gently moved Seo-Hyun to the side and climbed in
between the two kids -Once she was comfortable, Seo-Hyun crawled up against her
and rested her head on Saku’s stomach -Hyun-Woo cuddled close as well and rested his head on her
leg -Saku started to run her hands through both of the
children’s hair and began to hum a lullaby that she remembered her mother singing
to her when she was younger -Seo-Hyun’s cries ceased and soon Saku heard her soft snore -Hyun-Woo took a little longer, but fell asleep soon after -Saku felt her eyes drooping as she continued to run her
hands through their hair and hum -As she too fell asleep, she had no clue that the bedroom
door was opened and Ji-Hoon was standing beside it -He walked over to the three sleeping forms and pulled the
blankets up to cover them before leaving © 2013 Japanese Cherry |
