Her Love

 

The years have been kind

But they have gone by so fast

She thinks of all the things they've done

And she wants to make it last

 

She remembers when they met

It seems like only yesterday

One a warm sunny afternoon

Late in May

 

For a moment in time

She was taken by surprise

At how feelings suddenly surfaced

When he looked into her eyes

 

Something changed in her that day

Her heart seemed to be lighter

She found herself smiling more

And her whole world was a little brighter

 

His loving caring ways

Calmed her fears of a new start

The love he so freely gave

Touched her deeply in her heart

 

She'd find herself crying

From the gentleness of his touch

She'd find herself wondering

How two people could love this much

 

She lived each day

With a love that never dies

A love one could hear in her voice

               And could see in her eyes                  

 

She never took for granted

Of a love so precious and rare

For she knew to be apart

Would be more than she could bear
