Matchsticks and Crackers

Matchsticks and Crackers

A Poem by Visharad Srivastava

There are animals that are roaming around

In the streets in which we are found

With no intention to harm us anyhow

And with innocent eyes they would come to you right now

Then the day of Deewali comes

Which is supposedly when darkness should go away from our hearts

But we forget the meaning of deewali and start to make the whole day noisy

We drench fear the hearts of these animals

They shout and cry with no help near

We harm them when could love them in great manner

So why bring misery upon them with matchsticks and crackers
