Succumb

Succumb

A Poem by Tijana
"

Give in. You know you can't resist.

"

It grows stronger down within,
So deep it reaches past the skin.
She tries and tries and tries to win,
But in her veins there's nothing but sin.

This feeling oh it is so real,
It brings so much hurt that she cannot heal.

Each time she struggles and resists,
She's merely pulled deeper into this abyss.
A place devoid of life where all is amiss,
An existence crueler than even Death's kiss.

Author's Note

Tijana
An old piece. I found it skimming back through some of my work, and decided to share. It demonstrates the feeling of temptation, of being unable to control emotions of anger and outbursts. It's about becoming something you're not, someone you're not. Giving into the things you hate most, and turning into the reflection of what you were taught so strongly to stray from.

Sometimes, you can't always help but give in, can you? There's no resisting, and the outcome is something you would've never asked for. You regret, but sometimes can't help but go back to it like an addiction. The need for it gets stronger each time you try to stop. Not everyone is like that, but this piece is meant to portray the thoughts of someone who is.

About
I've always loved writing, though I'm not sure what first inspired it. It drew me in from day one, however, and even now I still enjoy creating my own work. Although it's been slower in the making as .. more..
