The Omen For The WiseA Poem by SageThis was a poem I wrote down for a slam poetry event which touched on pluralism, tolerance and inclusion, I must say Dr. Carl Sagan was my inspiration for this with his Pale Blue Dot. Hope you like itThe Omen for the Wise Hear all, Hear well my good folk The world right now, Is going up in flames and smoke We are one species, Yet we are separated On lines of race and color, We splendidly spread hatred We've forgotten fraternity We've forgotten kindness and love We only want ourselves to grow, But we forget we only reap what we sow We want to go to the moon, We want to explore space! Yet because of our bitterness and blindness We are stuck in an infinite maze We ridicule them because they cannot see? We call them disabled! They have a better sense of everything else, They are not disabled, they are differently abled! We say we aren't the same, We say we are better than them Remember well my people, We may be different and we may be diverse But we along with all of them are the universe
