![]() CagedA Poem by D. R. Fitzgerald Jr
Isolated from the world That you once knew Kept in a cage From everything you wanted to do Your wings spread full But no where to fly You just lay in your cell Withering till you die
Such a beautiful Angel Laying there silent The sign reads beware She may be violent Why not put up a fight To be free again To soar thru the heavens As her heart mends
So I reach for her cage Open the rusty little lock Her heart sang to me Like the ticking of a clock She flew thru the skies And smiled for the first time With that smile she stole The very heart that was mine © 2008 D. R. Fitzgerald JrReviews
