I crawled out of bed
with the memory
of two vague
masterpieces
lost in the
untraceable steps
of a dream´s
footprints
between
the snap
of a finger
and an evanescent
woebegone morning
Fragments of sweat-stained air
guitar strings notebooks
and prose-like voices
choking every last person
as it bled and squeezed
through every swirling nook
Now as the sun rises
I reach for you frantically
somewhere within an arms length
of my out-stretched hands
in the abstract illusion
driving me forward
But I fall back into a purple silken pillow
with a throat full of cotton
a headache, resigned pain
pulsing through my veins
and the epitaph
of two lost poems
that made me
think about you
That provokes me to
spit lyrical theories
mystical words
and unwritten destinies
I write poetry in a waking dream state and dream in a poetic reality state. I argue that a poem is not a poem until it's written and read, hence that which was supposed to be prose embedded in one's dream is... is... hmmm... could never come up with a phrase for that until now. Now I know that it's called 'Lyrical Theories'... Woah! Excellent! Thanks Samantha for this enlightenment!
Reads like a shopping list, I mean that with compliment, you need to read it one by one, to remember the impact it will and has had well done, good read.
@ everyone lol Ive had a few dreams where Ive written this amazing poem but could only remember a few lines, I look at it as at least I saved a few lines from the edge of forgotten.... humm thats a good idea for a poem lol. There was this one dream I had a month ago and I still cant get over the loss of the song I had written in it. I woke up and it was on the tip of my tongue teasing me and oddly enough Jennifer Lopez was singing it lol funny cause I dont much like her music I mean its ok.
I have tried to write songs even tried to turn a poem into song but I suck at it :( I wish I could write like Adele haha I think I could die somewhat happy to write something she sang
Thats happens to me almost everyday!!! I come up with great poems and by the time i get to the end i can't even remember the second line. Very well said!!!
I hate it when I get a great idea from a dream and then upon waking I can't completely recall it. It's the worst thing that can happen to a writer, for sure. Great poem.
I agree with the beginning of this poem. I write poems in my head. I get home and forget the complete poem. I use to carry a notebook. Write down notes and reminders of my thoughts. The poem tell a real story. I like the complete poem. Thank you for the excellent poem.

I love, love, love, love this! It's exactly how I feel at all times and how I think most poets tend to think also. Sometimes I forget what I wanted to write amidst writing and just swapping the forgotten with something else doesn't quite ring home but I do it anyway, even if it makes me unhappy, and everything I can think of is feeling of great loss due to idea escaped and a memory of the one I've written it for and about, hoping my mind will make up for it somehow. Great, great work! Among my favourites now.
