The sky holds kisses when the dark engulfs the light
Hide the sun in your skin
Light streams in through the curtains falling gently on season-seeped dust eating away at shadows that lurk in the corners like the ghoulish greenish-dark monsters belonging only to nightmares and to here
Eyes aflame with sapphire grain Her crimson lips boast thicker spells
Her beauty shines when sadness looms her tragedy devours as flame
And heartlight flowers in your hand
She tends to be an erotic lair a curiosa wonderland
She's sight seein' reality in slants of poetic verse
Seven scarlet-lipped seeds
dripping luscious succulent
septic and serpentine
this is not your Eden
nor your salvation
The time
will come
dear one
When another impress of blood-blue
tinged with soot
bitter-black
on the tongue
cries of fear
choked back
by muted lips that quiver best when licked
Writers aghast apologies to a fading fire
lodged in your ears like morning dew
I'm Sorry
the first of many to be sure
in the coming pages if there were any
When ink
returns again
Because when my heart
gets too full
I regurgitate words
I expressed these thoughts thru poetry with ease shedding light illuminated
Like the Absinthe that drove the bohemian intellectuals The mad Poets The Artists of the old centuries past to their creative ecstasies
Like the leannán sidhe inspiring my imagination to burn so fierce so bright so it near consumes me and all who dare so read
"Eyes aflame with sapphire grain" cause my eyes are Blue otherwise I would have went with emerald grain

Leannán Sidhe (Faery Sweetheart): Sister of the bean-sí who lives in rivers. She is the spirit of life and muse of singers and poets. She woos human lovers.
If I ever get the chance to try Absinthe I damn sure will !
This poem was inspired by Arthur Rimbaud the original punk poet the Green Fairy's wild child
and
Peggy Amond a contemporary American author who wrote a poem entitled "Rimbaud's Poison"
The emerald hour--
when the poet's pain is soothed
by a liquid jewel
held in the sacred chalice,
upon which rests
the pierced spoon,
the crystal sweetness--
Icy streams trickle down.
The darkest forest
melts into an open meadow
as waves of green seduce.
Sanity surrendered,
the soul spirals toward
the murky depths,
wherein lies
the beautiful madness--
absinthe.

I really liked this one. I love how you express your passion for poetry in your work, especially with the lines stating that when your heart overflows it regurgitates words. Awesome imagery! Oh, and I, too, would enjoy myself some Absinthe if I ever came across a good bottle of it.
A pleasure to read your poetry. A epic ride in this poem. I like the journey you took me with you in this poem.

Ah, yes Arthur Rimbaud influenced all the greats, he was mad as seeing what is between the lines is felt not read. we writers are green with jealousy, for not being the first to express such madness on the page, influenced by demonic presence that we are god's rejects left to only use 20% of our brains....good stuff
Oh my God, this beggars belief! What an incredible mind you have, and somehow you manage to convey all that beautiful grey matter onto the pages of our hearts. This is for me one of your best ever. I need to shelve this one, I want to take this in much more. When poems are as good as this, they are so hard to review, it is then, that a person is silenced. Thanks Samantha. That was a mind altering ecstatic experience, without the use of drugs and any bad side effects.

just loved this stanza...it seared through my chest for some reason...and it unsettled me in my seat. There was some real power exuding from it...the type that brings some sort of second person elation?? I really don't know how to put it down though, you'll have to settle for 'out of body experience' :P

Any writers dreams- to illuminate the path ahead and hopefully convey some sort of wisdom that others can comprehend and follow along their own paths...
