Soldier Boy

Soldier Boy

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

He was a Soldier Boy
Lost his Life when
Bombs Fell from the Sky

He died Fighting
standing on the ashes
of the past

A mass grave
of history's brutal path

Written in mangled death
strewn across the Earth

We walk upon bravery
never knowing their story

Never knowing the true cost

He had two younger brothers

he now has many more

The ghost of other soldiers

who walk with him throughout

the cold melancholy nights.

He was a Soldier Boy
Lost his Life when
Bombs Fell from the Sky

I been to the graveyards of WW2. 20,000 crosses died in one battle to free Europe. When you stand with them. The thoughts of who these Soldiers were and who were left to mourn and miss their brothers, sisters, sons and daughters? I like the way you wrote the poem. Allow the reader to feel the loss of every Soldier. Thank you for a excellent poem.
