In Search of Poetry

In Search of Poetry

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

It's all
your fault

I can't seem
to write anymore

You make me
so happy

You have given me
everything I have
ever wanted

Thus taking my ability
to drown deep within
the darkest corners
of my soul

I can no longer
bring poetry back
steeped in longings misery
to pour out of my lungs

They say
at the touch
of love we all
become poets

But that could not
be more wrong for me

You see

Poetry is a
thing of beauty
but it is more
a reality of pain

Poetry has
always been

Fragmented
Failures
of my
voice

Broken
shards of despair
and sorrow that consumed
my every breath

Hindered every heartbeat
slowly blood turned to ink

As we poets die
to live on the
page of souls

Poetry does not mean
the same as it once did

I use to mix
ink and tears
blood and cum

But in truth
I am ... I was
the fractured
damaged creature
who only thought
she knew what
poetry was

What
love
was

So now

My fingers search
out those spots

Changing the
current in my veins

As I learn
to write

From a place
of love as I am
no longer

Searching

Searching for
my missing half

Things seldom change. People change and grow so that their perspectives alter and become less severe as years go by. Hopefully, we become less hard on others as we become more accepting of the skins we live in. I remember one fellow saying that when he was sixteen his father was an idiot but by the time he reached 21 he was shocked by how much his father had learned in only five short years. (laughing)

The words have poured out deep within from your heart. Some people think its easy to be a writer; just put in the words, frame it. But bringing life to our thoughts through the words and trying to keep the purity and meaning framed together is a tedious job.
Oh! how foolish of those who think that they can scratch a thing and call it an art.
It takes dedication, passion and sheer love to be a poet or writer.

Wow, very deep and insightful. This lays out the perfect picture of how, as a writer, it feels when our work is created and how joyous yet frustrating the process can be. The end result being one with ourselves. Very well written!

This was very deep, and written straight from your heart.
I like what you are saying in this piece, sometimes it feels like sad heartbreaking pieces have more deep emotion, they are more meaningful, so they make great poetry.
Although when everything is great in your life, and your so happy, sure you can write happy poetry, though sometimes its hard to make that as deep and meaningful.
I really enjoyed reading this poem.
Well written
Keep writing :)

Hello Samantha,

I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment behind this poem. My favorite versus are:

"Fragmented
Failures
of my
voice

Broken
shards of despair
and sorrow that consumed
my every breath

Hindered every heartbeat
slowly blood turned to ink"

"Slowly blood turned to ink" . . . that is so beautifully written and says so much about a writer's soul. Nicely done!

Thanks for sharing!

Kind regards,

Schatzi

But in truth
I am ... I was
the fractured
damaged creature
who only thought
she knew what
poetry was
-This part I truly love and this is a great stanza, that pulls the reader in very deep into the poem its self. It really speaks to the reader that each poet has and is a fractured damaged creature, who only thought they knew what poetry, really was. I wanna rate this poem a 95, maybe just add a little bit more imagery but this a pretty piece.

i can identify with this, when i feel happy, its much harder to write poetry or anything for that matter, it's funny how that happens. This is really good though and i like how you expressed yourself in it.
