The Torture of the Broken

The Torture of the Broken

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

Oh the ache

The Pain

The throbbing agony

Dripping in misery

Tormented hearts

The torture
of the broken

Half beating
rhythms

Maybe it's sick
but I'm addicted to it

Maybe I get off on
having wounds
because

Because
at least
Ill bleed
ink

And

On days
like this

When
I am small
quiet words
echo through
my fingertips

Into Nothingness

For Nothing
Is What is written

And Nothing

Is What fills

white spaces

blue traces

Unable To Fully Hold

Emptiness

To Breast

I .....

I bleed broken

Sentences, fragments

Like shards of glass

Pierce the flesh

Mend the void

Break the poetry

Bend the realm

Reality crumbles

Inside this tortured

Heart, pounding

Out of sync

No rhythm

Aching Heart

Agony fills up

Drowning vessels

....... I

I wish... I wish

Upon the shooting star

I wish this ink

Could escape my veins

Paper drenched in blood

Drenched in misery

A spark of NOTHING,

My fingertips burn, scorched

Nailed to the Holy Cross

She screams "F**k me in verses"

With his f**k me eyes,

Just a loveless bind

In a meaningless world

He paints suicide perfectly

While she gasps for her last breath of air

She's dying of a non rhyming poem

Even though he believes that she,

Is the refection of perfection

In all of his imperfections

She's broken poetry on a page

Scrambled imagination

Wandering throughout

A wordless love

She's

Ripped

Into

Pieces

Of

Shredded

Paper

A lifeline almost fading

She's tortured inside his heart

Half of a heart

Draining, bleeding, dying heart

Broken beats

Thump, thum, thu, th,t....

Eyes dance for a moment

Of silence

They remember the man

That tortured this woman

A broken, damaged woman

Inside his emptiness

Simply wow! you took me on a ride, I could relate to this this so much. I loved the how you developed this piece, took us on a high then slowly ended, even the minimizing of the font was highly symbolic and pure genius. A job well done, keep writing!

The following are the best lines/stanzas I found. They don't seem as "done" before to me:

Half beating
rhythms

Maybe it's sick
but I'm addicted to it

Because
at least
Ill bleed
ink

He paints suicide perfectly
While she gasps for her last breath of air

I have not been on for a while and it was great to read your work again. It was powerful as always. You both are great poets and tell wonderful dark and thought provoking stories in your work.

You two are a great team as collaborators. Congratulations on such a powerfully worded and well thought out poem. Such darkly beautiful words! This one will stay with me for a while.

I have missed this classy poetry. You always leave me with material to think about. I like to read other strands and fibers and tissues connecting ourselves to life in ways that are totally different than mine.
Glad to see you both here and performing your art-form.

Your words strong and powerful. The description alive and true. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
