Gasping

Gasping

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

The weight of my heart
is crushing my lungs
into a sweet oblivion
of poetic torture

While my skin scars
beneath tears
marring my soul

My bones crumble
into volcanic ash

Everything I am

Everything I was

Everything
I could have been

Is lost in every
facile breath you take

And inside you
within that iceberg rib cage
lies a heart that will never
know how to love

Author's Note

Samantha ~virginpoet
Facile ... (especially of a theory or argument) appearing neat and comprehensive only by ignoring the true complexities of an issue; superficial, Shallow ect ect
