while I plant
secret kisses
along the length
of your body

As love
grows
wild

while I listen
to each heartbeat
echoing throughout
your ribcage

Sleep my love
while your heart
speaks to my heart
in a language rhythm
of age-old letters
embellished beautiful
in our little poet world

Sleep my love
while I speak
to the marrow
in your bones

Sleep my love
while my love for you
is felt on a subatomic level

Sleep my love
while every particle
contained in an atom
throughout my body
speaks your name

Sleep my love
while I whisper
I love yous
in your
left ear
made more
powerful and lasting
as I speak to the
right side of your brain
the heart of your
information center

Sleep my love
while we grow
deeply intertwined
as our roots combine
completely inseparable
like strands of DNA
a poetic hybrid

Sleep my love
while the sound of your breath
in the silence of the morning light
has become my muse

Your life
Your love
Your breath
in this moment
of eternity

Has become
the most
beautiful
thing in
the world

your essence
in the tangle

Hello Samantha,
I have been absent for quite some time due to health issues, I longed to be back today just browsing the Cafe for the great number of gifted poets who inspire my amateur writing in so many ways.
Your poem 'Sleep my love' is the first one I read, and your visual portrait of your morning routine excited every nerve and cell in 'my' body. I often write of love, its different angles and emotions; finding it so rewarding to be able to pour my soul into the depth of love which never fails.

Thanks Coyote ... This came to me and the idea of it this morning it possessed me while Stephen lay next to me sleeping and I as I always do begin to kiss his neck and shoulder down his back and around to his chest where I pressed my ear to his heart and listened to each beat and breath and finally kissed my way down his belly to .. er um I best leave that to the imagination lol let's just say he woke up smiling haha
