war flowers in her locks daisy chain wreaths of high velocity splatter grey matter stained petals wilting at atomic touch his scorched earth kiss fuels the drought in her throat Parched she chases the gun metal fireflies at his crushed temple drawing closer to drowning on his tongue whetting her barren mouth The aggressor nourishes his pale cadaver feeding her the spoils of invasion holocaust ash munitions like a dandelion wish blown on assassin's breath Picking through the carnage clawing at his armored chest bullet wound warmth refuge~ prison~ death in freedom's mask His hollow point skull in her demolished fingers nerve memory recalling unspoilt features the hidden vulnerability now blown open in a napalm romance By Samantha Pruitt © 2015 Samantha ~virginpoetReviews
