Funeral Romance

Funeral Romance

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

Pale and twitching
stretching blame
as time elopes

Dragging across
      this abrasive hour
to leave a fading
impression

Lets watch the world crawl by
as we suffer our immortality

Hide your blank expressions behind glass walls
and  brood over your melancholia
as I breathe your brutality

Split a Chelsea grin and be jovial
collect your pseudo blood
as it seeps from your dahlia

Scrape the dirt from under your fingernails
and plant the seeds of your lips to sprout a
mirror image to leech your suffering

I'll sacrifice my empathy for you

But I won’t be your marionette
