Tongue Tied

Tongue Tied

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

I am hardcore
pounding passion
so when I cant write
there is a galaxy of ink
coiling in my paper lungs
devouring my spine
from the inside
its a black and red
desire and dead
assisted suicide

I love this! Short and simple. I really like the lines "so when I can't write there is a galazy of ink coiling in my paper lungs." Awesome approach to writers block. This really explained how I feel when I can't write. It's not that I don't have anything, I just can't get the words out. This poem describes it as if you're MADE of your work. So cool! :)

shesh the would make a good minimalist poem think Ima do that lol Thanks for inspiring it
"'paper lungs" This just makes me feel all nice inside. Like, writers and such are the things they create. Books and words and ideas. I truly enjoy this poem, and it is simply amazing.

I was never interested in writing, mainly caused by lack of patience, and I don't have alot of experience with literature. I loved this poem, very detailed, I can agree that when I can't write, it feels like something is there waiting to be written on paper but I can't seem to express it. I have dreams alot about weird things including dragons and fantasy, I also have dreams of love, and interacting with women I have never met before. I guess my writing expresses both. I'd love to write about heists, and thrillers, but I always lean more towards romance and mystery, or some may call it dark. I find your poetry very real, very dark and thought provoking. thank you for writing.

seriously, this is the second thing of yours i have read and i cannot help but wish this was put to music, organ, violin and distorted guitar. very well written, and very, very visceral imagery. a joy to read.

thank you :)
I really like this image: "there is a galaxy of ink/coiling in my paper lungs." It is vivid and it touches the mystery of what writing does, how it feels, what it looks like. Oh what an interesting thing it is to be within the mind of a writer!

This is so vivid! A good way to get acquainted with your writing, I guess!
