Green Marble
In a city doused with shadow
in a city overrun by dreams
I find myself, lost
with fountains and shrines
with tombs and paths
of beautiful
of haunting
Green Marble
In a city drenched in madness
in a city with a masque of tranquility
I found you, lost
through tears and blood
through sweat and love
so beautiful
so haunting
Green Marble
In this city covered in confusion
in this city enamored with the lost
I found no answers
only questions and riddles
just demons and fears
so terrible
so haunting
Green Marble
In our city that steals your soul
in our city that steals it all
I found I'd lost myself
in tombs and fountains
in shrines, down paths
your beautiful
your terrible
Green Marble
From your city which won't let me go
From your city which feeds on our love
I must free myself
You and I both
Will wake and be gone
So terrible
You're vanishing
Green Marble
Green Marble II
Return to a town of temptation
there is no life in this city
where Green Marble is the foundation
there is but death in this city
here, there is no salvation
there is no life in this city
A dreaded, Hellish creation
there is but death in this city
Where all are granted damnation
there is no life in this city
Where, in a time of elation,
there is but death in this city
you find a swift-winged cessation
there is no life in this city
the devil's manifestation
there is but death in this city
This green-marbled land of privation.
Sort of a side-poem...
While walking down the marble street
I know not where I lead my feet
or if it's me whose being led
to where they'd have me go instead.
