Sepia Phonograph

Sepia Phonograph

A Poem by Virellius an Fiach
"

This is a very... sad poem. Longing for something which just no longer exists. It is a theme in many of my works. Futility, broken dreams, hope... smile. ;)

"

Untitled

Holding you in my arms;
it became simply second nature to me.
However, now that you're gone,
that nature has passed into history.

My arms, once full, now cradle my trembling self.
The eyes that once beheld you
now they fill with tears.
The memories grey with time.

Like a sepia picture, your colors are distorted
However, the truth will never fade away.
I will love you as I did then
for all eternity until and beyond my own death.

And I will never forget the time we shared.
our bodies entwined under the moon.
Your lips and mine
together in a neverending dance.

Death in its jealousy took you from me,
and now I wait in anguish
for the time when I may go to you.
Although I smile for them, I weep for you.

I replay the memories of you in my head
like a phonograph, scratched and old.
But in the same way, remembered
as only phonographs can recall.

And as I look to the sky
my tears like rain, I cry out
'Why could it not have been me?'
and the reply: a mournful wind.

You left and not me
because I was stronger
and I can live on
until we meet again

Because I won't forget
the love we eternally share.

I would give a long lengthy and most likely horrendously boring description of the philosophy I happen to follow, or the books I indulge in, or what Idol is my favorite, but that would be a bit of a r.. more..
