Moon

Moon

A Poem by Virellius an Fiach
"

I wrote this a long time ago. I still consider it my favorite and my best. It is the first real poem I ever wrote. I hope you appreciate it.

"

Moon
In night, in black empyreon,
incarnadined not by the sun,
but lit by stars which fall and swoon
and all bow down to mistress moon.

In black and inky liquid sky:
my lunar queen enthroned on high.
The galaxies her royal robes
surrounding her; a pure white globe.

My queens reign; a nightly glory.
Short as life, her nocturne-story.
Alas! the sun! My queen has died!
By day, King Sol is glorified!

This is a great poem. The imagery is vivid, although you do that well in all your poems. I also like the flow in this one. The rhyme and rhythm work really well and make it a joy to read.

I would give a long lengthy and most likely horrendously boring description of the philosophy I happen to follow, or the books I indulge in, or what Idol is my favorite, but that would be a bit of a r.. more..
