A Poem by Jed

Ten days later, when the nights blurred together
vision blinded by softer light
minuscule steps echoing throughout the hallway
the scent of the city slept on the window
I left your side in a dream, fully clothed no shoes
hoping to retrace the path that lead me to you
once upon a time, once upon a scribe
still inked-inlike, silent love spells
our private alphabet theories
we'd discuss countless hours
over silent air waves
a professed confession of a connection
without any words spoken
nor once a physical touch
that's how our worlds merged
that's how I met you
that's how you became my
Sweet Angel Love Orchid
My HALO, forever

My obsession with Ohio
the reason why I'd fake deaths
burn birth certificates
set my grave afire, to verify
no other has ignited such passion since, ever
I hope this poem doesn't fall on deaf ears
hopefully one that hears
the words that I truly mean
and the ones that I don't
that ones that I can't
the ones that I shouldn't
the ones that are hidden
the ones only you can decipher
as I assume
you already have

Passionate. Sweet. This poem feels... loving and... careful.
