Have you ever felt like you're always there to help or support someone, but no one is ever there for you? This is what this poem is about.

Is It So Hard

Have you ever felt what’s the point of trying anymore

You don’t know what you’re even trying for

When you need help and support there’s never anyone around

You try to get your hopes up, but they always seem to get shot back down

You try your best to try to succeed

But when you need support no one is ever there in your time of need

When someone needs you you’re always there

The least they could do is show the same courtesy and care

If someone asks you never mind lending a helping hand

But when the roles are reversed where are the family and friends

They claim to love and care for you and tell you how proud they are

But whenever you need them why is it so hard

It seems no matter how hard you try; no matter what you say or do no one seems to care

The hurt and pain sometimes seems too much to bare

A little support is all you’re asking for not manual labor

So is it too much to ask for them to return the favor

Sometimes I think they just tell us what we want to hear

They try to sound so caring and sincere

What we do may not seem important in their eyes

But if they really cared about us they would support us and be by our side.

Friends and family are supposed to show their love and care

If you can’t rely on them for support who else is there

So do we just give up and give in

If we can’t depend on family and friends

I say we keep trying to make something of our selves

Maybe we can reach someone else

Maybe one day we will succeed

And accomplish what we set out to achieve
