Unrequited Love Bullshit: I Died On The Corner Of Third And Spring.

Unrequited Love Bullshit: I Died On The Corner Of Third And Spring.

A Poem by Eden
"

Something I wrote while sitting at work today. Boredom.

"

I can't take this anymore
The words come out uneasy
We're all gently torn
By the innocence that made this
And the substances that would wear us
Like the seasons did when we had it all together

I saw you leap from the stories
Into fields of daisies
I followed cause you asked it of me
I landed flat on the corner
Of third and spring
As you smiled from the far balcony
I was gasping for air and
You were in disguise while
Others looked upon with their spying eyes
But the world carried on
While i withered in stone
All the while, all the years
I spent it with a ringing in my ear

The worst part
Is the best you brought out in me
And the best part
Is the worst i brought out in you

My regrets hold strong to the memories of you
Caught on the border
Never forgiven (you're never forgotten)
My oh my you lit up your smile
And took me for a fool again
You ask me why i can't just feel
Well this is just the way that i am
And i have no intent on trying to fixing it now

I gave you a part of me
I gave you my best
And if you will i left the return address
Stapled upon your hardened chest
So you'll never lose it
And i can buy it back
Out of spite
For the nights
I had to spend alone
There'll come a day
When you will be the one stuck on your own

The worst part
Is the best you brought out in me
And the best part
Is the worst i brought out in you

You're only wanting to be remembered
Well you're impossible to forget
Everyone will remember you the same
No one will remember you by your name
Or by your neatly pressed dress
You'll be remembered by the way it fell past your hips

The single touch from a star crossed lover that
Drew the fighting sweat from every pore of your misused body
And you know exactly what i mean but
Quiet now, I know we don't speak of such a scene

The worst part
Is the best you brought out in me
And the best part
Is the worst i brought out in you

They say still waters run deep
Well this is the water seeping from the depth of my bones
The toxins carry through
That make me poison and
There was a time when
I was the fluid that set your fire
I was the one who made you perspire
You and i were carrying the last
Of our innocence in one another
A heavy weight too delicate to appreciate
So if you're asking
The hardened heart still beats
But no longer speaks...
It's set to be free

The sun set and the light grew thin
Watching you from the rear view
You faded and i left the best of me
There with you
Eighteen years old
We all met too young
We all met too wrong
Everything that meant anything has been sold
We're the products of our own disease
And these are the last words i'll speak
Of what happened between you and me

The worst part
Is the best you brought out in me
And the best part
Is the worst i brought out in you

Well, the best part
Is the worst you brought out in me
And the worst part
Is the best i brought out in you

We're the products of our own disease
And these are the last words i'll speak
Of what happened between you

What happened between you and me.

I was the fluid that set your fire - Great line!

Boy, does the title fit or what? It's all unrequited love bullshit, isn't it?
Nicely done!

Good job, this is very deep. An overall good write, interesting format and brought-forth emotion. I really liked this especially the lines :

"The worst part
Is the best you brought out in me
And the best part
Is the worst i brought out in you"

Very, very nice.
Keep up the good work.
