Lost love

Lost love

A Poem by Violet

Standing at my window,
I saw the moon peeping through the woods,
It's gleam stretching into infinity.
The beauty of this sight reminded me of
You my love, of those piercing eyes,
Longing for forever.
My thoughts lingered back to the time
When I held you in my arms
For as long as it would last,
The idea of losing you right there
Made me shiver to my bones.
When you smiled at me for the last time,
I was overcomed with grief.
Begging the almighty to let you stay,
I saw you bite the dust.
Tears failed to escape my eyes,
A silent scream left my mouth.
You were gone from the world of myth,
Leaving me reminiscing over our memories.
Today, I feel nothing but empty inside.
Only if I could make you stay,
This grief wouldn't be here today.
Lost in those memories,
I saw the moon gleaming more than ever,
Maybe he's watching over me from there,
I thought to myself
Before going to back to my bed,
Crying till I feel asleep.
