thirtysomethingFlor

A Story by Danielle Asher

Flor grabbed his face as they began to kiss again. She was amazed at how easy it was to fall into old habits. He was the most beautiful man she had ever been with. As their kiss emerged deeper she knew she was nowhere but with him. This was usually the case. The two of them together did not know what was going on around them. It was like they had their own private world even if it only came around every 8 or 9 months.  Their hands started to move a little more freely without advancing too far ahead. She reached beneath his shirt and ran her hands up his sides. Immediately flooding her mind how amazing his skin felt as if she could not have lived with out him all this time. Flor effortlessly continued kissing him though she knew it was not going further then that. "Tonight, let's not allow it to be so easy. Just this, like we are 16 again, like us." He looked at her with the most sincere romantic eyes that she had only seen before on his face and they continued to kiss.
Right now she could not remember the pain that she had felt before. It was as if they had spent a lifetime together.

He was the most unavailable of all the men in her past and present but it was only with him that she could completely loose herself. Over the years of all the on agains and offs she convinced herself that he did really love her. He had too because there was no way of describing what they had. Not to anyone, and most of all not to themselves. He was like going home. Home was a place you can somewhat be yourself, but you knew you were never completely safe. She knew at home there was no one she could trust. But she knew she was happy to be in her room. Happy to be home.
