one last day

one last day

A Poem by Danielle Asher

Staring out the windshield

Dreaming about the end of the world

Not an original sentiment but the music inspired me

The view is clear

A vision

Just like any other night but we’d make a point of it this time

Us laughing

Maybe I would be laughing

You would enjoy that

We can share music

Listen to one anothers stories

Find pleasure in each other’s bodies

I would not think twice about

My books, my poems, my art

It would not matter where we are from

Who needs to save who

Leave it all behind

All the things previously thought to be important

For one last day

You and I

Finally happy

There would not have to be any waking up any other way

This one last day

Pointedly poignant, almost bittersweet, but very beautifully written, very visual, flowing very poetically...Great job!
