Don't Think Twice

Don't Think Twice

A Poem by Danielle Asher
"

Dylan inspired title and such- for the "Beats of Heart and Soul" Group

"

Lyrics stirring up old memories

And I mean old

From years ago

I forget who the first one was

I certainly remember who the second was

and the third

There have been so many not worth thinking twice about

Though what I never really got was why I thought about them

so many more times than twice

It really was so telling

Never satisfied by age

Trying not to look back at precious time wasted

And though I have no regrets, I do wonder what would happen

If they would have come back in their time and tried to change my mind

Keep me around, keep me down

I don’t much remember the sound of my name

Living alone I do not hear it much

But that’s all right

I have not ever really been a believer much in empty words

Though ‘Fare Thee Well’ is my favorite Indigo Girl’s song

This time when your c**k is crowing, it may just be the memory of me

But I am long gone,

long long gone from your childish empty ways

All of you

Unfortunately I do think a lot more than twice

I guess that lyric was meant for you, you, and you

the rumblings of my memories
every time i hear a song
even now i hear my memories
with just the lyrics of your poem

with your poem there is music
that i hear and memories
of those who have no specific song
one love i know from one time

now lost in time this love
now in my memory cause
of thinking of those that can
only be remembered from song

Great conversational style, and wonderful flow from start to finish....we all remember more than once or twice and we all wonder what he's thinking when his c**k crows. There is a vast storehouse of visuals inside every male head (both heads:-)

I was going to say Don't Think Twice, It's All Right and then I noticed it in your bit-below-title...that's what dragged me and I do like the thought process. It's decisive and that is, indeed, one of the most important things about moving onto better things, which I think you have done! :)

Another wonderful piece the font was a bit hard to read but I think that's because I have been staring at paper for the past, well lost count, hours.

A powerful work, even if a bit painful. Good finish too.

I would hope that you have collected a few wonderful rememberances over the years too. Something that still makes you smile.
