Finally

Finally

A Poem by Danielle Asher
"

a tribute to Barack's speech today 3/18/08

"

This man

Black man

Strong man

Honest man

Finally…

Hillary, Race and Gender is not the same thing

And I am a women who has faced multi types of discrimination

I do not blame these women speaking out for being upset at a man

A man he still is

But he was responsible

He stepped up

Faithfully

To his friend

To his ancestors

To his nation

To Unity

Saying things that need to be said

Speaking out for those that need to be heard and do not know how to advocate their voice

Yes, it does still exist in 2008

We do live in segregated communities

We are judged solely on the color of our skin and NOTHING else

This man

Does not need to be glorified

However it is a good day

That he was brought into a situation

Where he chose to make a good choice

Finally

i may not agree on the views
but the word you use

"Finally" is where i agree
this may be an Honest man
certainly a strong man

wish to be strong as an
Honest man makes the
whole thing worthy

i do disagree
all men and women
should be color blind

when i look at man
i do not see color
i see a man

with all his faults
or being irreproachable
as either i see no color
