not yet, let down

not yet, let down

A Poem by Danielle Asher
"

think deeper

"

Frankie has a massive ear infection
And my wallet is empty
What am I to do?
My gas tank light is on and has been now for miles
At least I have a bag of coins next to my bed
The anxiety sits heavy in my chest
I try to block out all the days work
But it is so hard
Bullied and misunderstood
Fitting in but feeling like you can never truly be yourself
A leader who does not truly lead
And today
Another one fell.
So sad,
Our fearless hero of the state
Fell to his knees
The one we waited for for so long
The one that answered our needs
He will now be remembered as the Governor that slept with w****s
And he over paid
Though we have leaders that murder and torture and devastate
Leading with violence and misguided by their version of love
Nobody questions who they sleep with
Or who they kill
On the grander scale I feel let down
On the smaller scale I feel relieved but let down

I’m so tired
But I’m not giving up yet.

Actually, it isn't a surprise that a politician has fallen because of prostitution, not all politicians are blood suckers, but not all of them are to be trusted, until a politician actually makes a difference then we can have faith in them again. Another great piece.

Great write, I can't help but wonder how an average american citizen who has no experience in politics but knows little would do against these swines in office now who just steal money and use it at thier own expense.

i loved this read, truly enjoyed it - wonderfully written.

Great Write.

I got from this that there is real life, (the world that we are all engaged in), and then there's this strange media sparked world of people in power, power falling, fading riseing, the powerful being laid low, and yet there is no change in the real word, (out of gas, money, ecc,) and the same fools remain in charge only to be replaced by new, other fools.

Danielle, this is just another example of the intelligent people we have running our governments, no intelligents at all. It goes on and on and we sometimes are the blame for some of this, we are the ones that put them into office and at times, for no other reason, but because we like their looks, we like how well they speak, we listen to other people and don't draw our own conclusions and so many other reasons that have nothing to do with how intelligent and how much guts does this person have to stand up to his or her real convictions. We all need to take a better look at who we put into office in November, we throw our vote out the window when we pick a candidate because that is the person everyone else is voting for. There is so much corruption in our government, they are greedy and power hungry, they set each other up for the big fall, just by finding a weakness in the person, they know how to attack each other, so we need to ask ourselves, "Can this man or woman stand behind their convictions, are they intelligent enough to know their weakness and stay clear of it and do they really know what the heart of this country is crying about, do they have the guts to stand up to their constituents, do they know how much of a slap in the face it is to us to know we are spending 12 billion dollars a month in Iraq, but there are babies all over this country that live with the flies, i know that sounds sickening, but it is the truth and it is the truth all over this world and people need to have it shoved in their face and be constantly reminded about humanity and what it means. I'm sorry about the rant, you caught me at a good time this morning, I'm a native New Yorker and the story about the governor, kinda set my mind into this. But as I said, if we only talk about it and never look deeper into the candidate, then things will not change, until there is revolution in this country. So never give up.
