Remember when we all were together The support The circle Dawn and the laughter The home we always went back to at the end of the night We were all in love with one another We kissed in the rain We splashed in the pool We touched each other We sang and danced We laughed and laughed and laughed The tears flowed The words found their way onto the page Our fingers connected to create a melody on the black and white keys We learned about who we would love more than others But we knew who are friends were
At that time some of us had little brothers Now they are grown Track stars, Artists, Lifeguards aspiring to be Navy Seals With this mornings paper delivery we learn The Lifeguard will not make it to his dream He is no longer the little brother of our friend He is no longer Sinking heart A name A face Knowing that once we would all be there through this time At one time we would all embrace and cry Now we learn the deepest truths from newsprint Questioning how to reach out So many years have past Enough years to make a little boy a man Enough years that the questions hint of no answers of how Sad Missing a friend Times that used to be better left Sometimes Maybe not this one
