driving the sun filled Western highway

driving the sun filled Western highway

A Poem by Danielle Asher
"

i'm healing. I hope my readers are hanging in there with me if a lot of my poetry is too similar.

"

When I asked why in your writing you always end up alone

you could have said because you knew that was how you wanted to end up

who realized it would be by the end of the week

you may have never saw blue

but I never saw the truth

so selfish to hold on

you read this now probably thinking

you told me all along

but eluding to your truth

and being honest are very different

I'm just looking for someone to blame

you are the one so good at disconnecting, disapearing, avoiding

I am jealous

I know I deserve more

These are just my thoughts as I drive the wrong way as usual down the sun filled Western highway

Plus dreams are plaguing me

Hopeful that they will end in time

time will get the smoke off my jacket

that still gets in my hair

and time will help my skin forget the feel of your touch

and your eyes
