Charlie

Charlie

A Poem by Danielle Asher
"

poor Charlie. It must be hard being 3 doing all that traveling.

"

Charlie was a happy boy

He wore a golden yellow shirt featuring his favorite truck

His favorite snack was crackers that helped him tell stories along his day

A is for Charlie

B is for Charlie

G is for Charlie

Z is for Zach

Zach is his younger brother

Charlie was thrilled to be creating circles like a dance along the floor

He rolled his Blue, Orange, Yellow, Fish friendly suitcase along the floor

Around and around he went

He was free

Charlie could not be happier

Until he entered 4F

4F was a trap he did not realize he was walking into

All he knew was to expect a trip to see Grandma

Where heart cookies, sugar cookies

All sorts of cookies made with love all for Him!

Suddenly terrified feeling the grip of the belt

Charlie screams!!!

“I’M STUCK! I’M STUCK!

GET ME OUT OF HERE!”

Suddenly cookies and sky

Is all worth giving up

Innocents slip away so quickly

Not even a lollipop can cure the panic

Or stop it from happening

I will probably work more on the ending but this is what I have for now.

A young boys ride on a seat that is the smallest thing he could possibly fathom. I've know people who were unable to fly do to the panic that would set in, so i can see this young boys fear. And you are very correct, that when panic seizes, nothing else matters.
This was a good work!

RUN CHARLIE!!!
What is 4F?
I really like childlike phrasing.
What happened to Charlie?

Interesting piece, the font helps in bringing the reader into the child's state of mind.
From the point of "4f" on needs a little editing but there is definitely a nice poem in here waiting to be polished.

Keep working on it
