time of arrival

time of arrival

A Poem by Danielle Asher
"

loving one another for years is one thing but making it work is another

"

Contemplating my arrival

A chance to see

What will you see?

Maybe you will see how time has crept in and stole my youth

Maybe you will see how fear has been winning and I am not the same girl

who used to love to drive and get lost for hours

Contemplating more than my arrival

My head is spinning with time

How it robs us

How it saves us

How we hold on to it

For better

For worse

For good

We hold on

Two idealists in time

Writing poetry

What will you see?

This is great!
When I see old friends, they are always changing, but we tend to bring our past feelings out. I like to see my old friends smile. It makes me feel special. :)
Have fun.

What do I see? I see myself in this poem and I see the two of us smiling in that recognition. I love the easy conversational flow of this poem and the way it makes me think about myself and my own journey.

The uncertainty of self within relationships (even healthy ones) is adaquately explored here.

Might the other person see hard won wisdom or insight? A smarter self? A vintage coming into its own?

I would like to see the potential for excitement explored here as well as the fear of loss.

The layout is stunning and very unusual!

Loved the piece.........two people who make it work, coming together as different people, and then seeing
things we may never have seen................two idealists writing poetry, two sensitive souls...........
beautiful.
