Another Night Awake

Another Night Awake

A Poem by Danielle Asher
"

I'm tired, but i wanted to write somthing

"

Another night awake

Wondering how I will get it all done

When I take off on that plane

I want nobody to look for me

Not even myself

Especially not her

I want to land in a world

Where I have never seen blue like that before

And Romeo and Juliet really are just a romantic tragedy

I want to leave everything behind

The inequity

The cruelty

The violation

The truth or lack their of

Most importantly the fear

I want to leave behind

The Senators

The Assembly members

The Governor

The Community Organizers

The leaders of the Community

The youth of the community

Keep them all away

Another night awake

My mind is every where

But where it needs to take off for tomorrow

100 letters to my father

or just one

I don’t know which way to go

Where is the stage?

What are the words?

At least I can cross another one off the life list

Another night awake

I do not believe I sparkle

Or shine

I want to sleep

Leaving fear behind

Behind

Behind

Behind

Behind…

Pretty cool, the mind wanders to a million thoughts, but it longs for one thing, serenity.

I sense anxiety. :)
You show all these worries and troubles. You've writen here, about things in the future that are affecting you now. It's good to plan ahead, but come on. :)
How do you make your thoughts stop?
Great write.
Have fun. :)

Danielle

"their of" should be "thereof".

This work paints an intriguing portrait of the narrator.

One exposed to government/social causes.
One seeking to become lost or start over.
Wanting to escape from "her."
A theatrical bent. Wanting to believe the tales.
Uncertain relationship with father.
Self-potential unfulfilled.

We learn so much about this person from the things observed in the world around him/her.

You sparkle and shine on this one.

" I do not believe I sparkle Or shine "
Well, you're wrong now, aren't you? Because this piece makes you sparkle and shine quite eloquently! I love your flow, rhythm, and your message!

" I want to land in a world Where I have never seen blue like that before "
May I suggest Florida then?

Excellent write! Going in my Favs!

Very emotional piece, when life is taken over with such things we wish to escape........and fly, leave
it behind..........not being able to sleep because the mind is still churning with thoughts.........

My mind is every where

But where it needs to take off for tomorrow

100 letters to my father

or just one

I don't know which way to go

Where is the stage?

What are the words?

Sometimes we simply think too much...........and decisions made in the night darkness are not always the
wise ones when we are so tired.
