Greater than ourselves

Greater than ourselves

A Poem by Danielle Asher

Neither of us knows what it means to be steady

We only know how to love greater than ourselves

Familiar with fear

Companion of grief

Sleep along emptiness

Lock ourselves in solitude

Fear of the disaster

Mistrust

Truth

Connection

Make believe

Imagine

What if I am wrong?

All the blue skies and stars of the past

Or were their only gray skies?

(It does not matter now anyway)

Forward

Alone

Do not be afraid

I want to learn to trust

No more rain

Unless it washes us clean

Very heavy words here. Paint a scene of trying to learn to believe ad trust yourself as well as another. The purity of your quest is riddled with memories of a past that seem to never let go of you in the present. I liked the way this was delivered and the way you captured a try emotional feeling of fear in a sense wonderfully done.
