A Poem by Danielle Asher
"

sometimes you just wish you could have stopped a reaction after you reacted

"

Finding the way in the dark

I hear a sound

Could be a growl

Maybe an animal

Maybe a beast

My pulse accelerates

My feet continue at their pace

Entering deeper into the space

I place my hand out before me

Guiding my way through the exceptional darkness

SNAP

Sharp teeth grate at my hand

A mouth grapples in my direction

I am Still

Just a moment

SNAP

I bite back

Giant human jaw

Piercing the air

Biting at an enemy

I can not see

Only the black before my eyes

Invisible opponent

I can not stop

Loud screeching sound

I can not stop

My eyes see only the black before me

I can not stop

Building

I can not stop

Anger

Tears

snap…

on the other side of the light

I could have trusted you

But all I see is the darkness

I really liked the imagery you conveyed :) The only bad thing is I just wish there was more because it was so interesting.
