Whirlpool goes around

Whirlpool goes around

A Poem by Danielle Asher

Whipping post

And my mind is the whip

Frustrated freak

Too hard on

Self

The ultimate sin

Dropping the bottle

SELF PROCLAIMED

Disaster

Looking for love

Instead of letting

It find me

Rushing through

Life

Like my childhood

Playing in the pool

The whirlpool goes around

And around

I tread backwards

Going nowhere

Sinking

Drowning

But then again…

If my memory persists

I always break the cycle

Though I would never tell you it was not complicated

Complicated

I am absolutely loving this one right now! It almost has a disjointed feel to it, which I really like to it. It's like a little guessing game.Like this part: "Looking for love/ Instead of letting/ It find me/ Rushing through/ Life/ Like my childhood/ Playing in the pool" The rushing through part... are you talking about you're rushing though life, not really living it cuz you're just trying to find love? Or are you making reference to the pool? With kids they're always doing stuff a hundred miles a minute.
